Many have asked, WHO AND WHAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PRESENT 'FOOD CRISIS' THAT IS ENGULFING THE PLANET.
1. Is it certain nations that have suddenly began to EAT MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE?
2. Is it nations who once produced food WHO HAVE DECIDED TO KEEP THIER FOOD AT HOME IN RETALIATION TO THOSE WHO HAVE DECIDED TO RAISE OIL PRICES?
3. It it the weather that have made food production difficult - particularly due to global warming?
Some list:
Price of oil -- shipping, ect.
Increase demand for meat -- grain goes to livestock
so that more people can have beef and meet.
Biofuel mishap - too much grain is being used to create fuel for cars.
Financial speculation.
IT IS SHAMEFUL THAT 'DEVELOPING NATIONS' WHO ARE MAINLY LOCATED IN TROPICAL NATIONS WITH GOOD SOIL, GOOD CROPS, A WIDE VARIETY OF FOODS AND PLENTY OF SUNSHINE AS WELL AS WATER RESOURCES CANNOT GROW THEIR OWN FOOD.
The shame actually is NOT THAT THEY CANNOT GROW THEIR OWN FOOD, but that the food they grow is used to feed the NORTHERN/SNOW/ICE affected nations. This food also become 'cash crops' to satisfy the Northern nations while the Southern tropical nations suffer.
The time has come to STOP THIS EVIL SCHEME.
In fact, when nations like Zimbabwe and other ARE FORCIBLY STARVED, THAT ACTION SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS GENOCIDE BY THOSE WHO HAVE CONSPIRED TO STARVE ZIMBABWE DUE TO THEIR REFUSAL TO ACCEPT RECOLONIALISM.
African and tropical farmers MUST PUSH THEIR GOVERNMENTS TO DEVELOP RESEARCH INSTITUTES TO DEVELOP STRONG FOOD BASES.
African SPACE AND WEATHER TECHNOLOGY AND EXPLORATION MUST BE APPLIED TO IMPROVING AGRICULTURE, STUDYING CLIMATE AND TAKING MEASURES TO STOP CALAMITIES LIKE FARMING.

An article in Raceandhistory.com about the agricultural potential of African nations SHOWED THAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHY AFRICAN NATIONS SHOULD BE WITHOUT FOOD OR WHY THEY ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FOOD-PRODUCTION SCALE.
The article showed that Africa produced a wide variety of plants and edible crops and that they have these crops in abundance. These include bananas, rice, yams, sweet potatoes, various types of peas, corn, citrus, wheat, sorgum, millet, a large amount of livestock and poultry and a wide variety of other edibles.
Yet, Africans continue to starve?
WHY?
Because the crops and livestock that Africans produce are being used to feed the rest of the planet, PARTICULARLY THE NATIONS OF EUROPE AND OTHER NORTHERN NATIONS THAT HAVE ABOUT SIX MONTHS OF COLD WEATHER, WHERE NOTHING GROWS IN THESE NATIONS DURING THE COLD SEASONS.
Hence, Africans MAY HAVE TO CREATE A 'FOOD CARTEL' AS WELL AS A 'RAW MATERIALS CARTEL' to protect its food and mineral as well as other resources.
As big nations start expanding, THE PARASITIC NATURE OF MANY WILL BEGIN TO SHOW. Some of these nations have not even began to wreck havock as yet, still the mere move by them to use food as a means of control is causing problems globally.
Pan-Africans and Africans in Africa MUST UNITE AND CREATE WAYS TO ENSURE SELF-PRESERVATION. This can be done by the uniting of colleges and universities from Black America, Africa, the Caribbean, Melanesia WHO ALL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN TROPICAL AGRICULTURE. They should then work together and exchange ideas on ways to produce food efficiently.
This is already being done with Tuskegee University and some West African and Caribbean nations. Pan-African experts get together and exchange scientific and agricultural ideas. After all, Tuskegee Institute has been a leader in agricultural research for over 100 years and it was George Washington Carver who invented many products from the sweet potato and peanuts, including many still used today.
African nations, African-Amerians, Melanesians, South Indians of India, Caribbeans and others LIVING IN TROPICAL REGIONS WHO ARE AFFECTED BY FOOD PROBLEMS should organize and should recognize that being in the tropical environment IS AN ADVANTAGE.
Africans have to return to thier ancient culture and EXAMINE THE ANCIENT WAYS OF PERSERVING THE ENVRONMENT. Learn from people like the Japanese. Study how the ancient people of Benin, Cush, Khemet, Swahili coasts, Congo maintained their forests and produced their foods. For example, the ancient Aztecs of Mexico created 'floating gardens,' where entire villages and farms were built on lakes and rivers for the purpose of planting and growing crops, while at the same time, making sure that the natural flow of water was not disturbed.

THE 'FOOD CRISIS' MUST BE SOLVED BY NATIONS LIKE HAITI, THOSE IN AFRICA AND ELSEWHERE. This is done BY FINDING NEW WAYS TO GROW FOOD AND TO MAINTAIN PRODUCTIVITY.
For example, REFORESTATION MUST CONTINUE IN AFRICAN NATIONS. Plants like the Eucalyptis and those strengthened to grow in desert climates like alfalfa, should be used to help sandy soil become more fertile (AS IS DONE IN CALIFORNIA).
African agricultural experts SHOULD STUDY THE WAY THAT AN ENTIRE DESERT/DRY LAKE BED REGION OF CALIFORNIA WAS TURNED TO THE WORLD MOST FERTILE AND MOST PRODUCTIVE FOOD PRODUCING AREA - BY USING (BELIEVE IT OR NOT) ANCIENT AFRICAN IRRIGATION TECHNIQUES (see 'Susu and Susunomics," http://www.iuniverse.com ), such as digging strong trenches to carry water underground (to prevent cloggin from sand), using canals, pipes and other forms of irrigation.
Finally, NO TROPICAL NATION SHOULD DEPEND ON OTHERS FOR THEIR FOOD. Food security is as crucial as defense, for the use of food as a weapon CAN HAVE DISASTEROUS AFFECTS. That is why every household should devise a means to have outdoor as well as indoor gardens ( in special types of containers) where food is planted and can be harvested. |
